Today’s card is dedicated to a special little girl who lost her battle to cancer yesterday.
She was only eight-years-old.
Gabby, or as I called her “Gabby Girl”, was the child of a very good friend of mine who she nannied for since Gabby was a baby. My friend and Gabby had an incredible bond that was special to each other.
Gabby was diagnosed with cancer almost two years ago. She survived a surgery, fought through chemo, battled a cancer a second time it came back, smiled and laughed through it all, and received lots of love from her family and friends.
Unfortunately, when Gabby’s cancer came back, her body could not fight it no longer. Cancer won.
I wasn’t very close to Gabby or her family. However, I would like to say to each of them, “My condolences and she was a beautiful and brave little girl with a BIG smile, and I look forward to seeing her very soon.”
And to everyone who has lost someone they love to cancer, I would like to say that “I’m very sorry for your loss.”
Thank you Gabby Girl for being yourself. You will always be loved and will be missed until very soon.
We love you Gabby.
