I really don’t feel like designing today, but I still made a card inspired by an app.
I saw a blue dress online that I like, so I decided to make a card based on it.
Today’s card is late because if you’re not a college basketball fan, then you have no idea what just happened tonight.
Two of the biggest rivals went head to head in a battle for a spot in the Elite 8 during March Madness.
University of Kentucky Wildcats battled it out against the University of Louisville Cardinals on the Lucas Oil Stadium Court in Indianapolis, IN.
UK started out behind UofL the entire first half. When halftime was over, it was on to see which Kentucky team would win: UK or UofL.
After trailing 13 points behind UofL for most of the second half, UK made some amazing shots sending the score past UofL.
The last 15 seconds of the game were nail biting as we waited to see if UK would take it or go home with their heads hung low down in shame.
Well, with just 2.3 seconds left in the game, UK had a major come back and managed to win the game: 72 to 69.
Wooo Hooo!!!!!!! UK is on to the Elite 8 and will play Michigan on Sunday night for a spot in the Final Four.
Today’s card is dedicated to all the wonderful UK alumni, students, faculty, staff, and most importantly, the fans.
GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!
I was strolling through Facebook tonight checking out what my peeps are up to and I stumbled onto a video someone posted.
There’s a show on ABC called, “What would you do?’ and each week it features a different scenario with actors and live people to see how they would handle an unexpected situation.
Well, the episode that’s floating around online line is titled, “Guy Brings His White Girlfriend To Harlem Barbershop & This Happens“.
Not to sound racist, but basically it shows how a black woman who’s a hairdresser (she’s an actress) reacts when a black male client comes in for a haircut and then his white girlfriend shows up to wait for him.
I don’t want to spoil the episode for anyone, but if you take a few minutes to watch it, you’ll understand today’s thank you card design.
We live in a world where the color of a person’s skin should not matter, but what’s inside their heart. We can’t judge a book by it’s cover, so we should never judge or have preconceived notions about another human being. We are all imperfect humans, not mechanically robots – we weren’t designed that way.
So, let’s stop allowing ourselves to judge another person and focus on getting acquainted with their inner beauty to really understand who each person is.
Love conquers all.
For the past week, I’ve known a number of different people in my life that have gone through a roller coaster of emotions.
Some people have received happy news that brought big smiles on their faces, while others have had to deal with a number of crushing blows and made them sad.
I am so happy for all the people who have received some happy news in their life. But I am so heartbroken for the ones that have not. I wish I had the power and ability to fix everything, but I don’t because I’m an imperfect human.
I just want everyone to know that no matter how hard and rotten things may be, there is a light at the end of the tunnel to something good. It might take some time, but it will get better and you will be happy, I promise.
To all the people in my life that have received happy news, yeah!
As for everyone I know that is having a hard time. I love you and I am here for you.
Today’s card to dedicate to everyone that is either sad or happy.
Remember, life is a roller coaster of emotions and keep the ones who love you close by and lean on them when their shoulder appears.
Every time I see pastel colors, I’m immediately reminded that it’s Spring. Of course, today it didn’t feel or look like Spring around here.
It started out sunny, but cold. Then around 2:30 p.m. we had snow showers! It was crazy!
About 20 minutes later, the snow showers stopped and the sun came back out again. There’s a saying around here, “If you don’t like the weather, wait 10 minutes.”
Anyhow, the calendar says its Spring so let’s get on with it.
Okay, today’s design is based on a living room picture I saw on Pinterest earlier today.
It’s Double Thank You Card Day!
That means I designed two cards today instead of one.
Anyhow, there was something wonderful that happened 30 years ago today that brings back great memories to generations of people who lived through the 1980s.
Most people remember the 1980s as bad hair days, Madonna, Vans, skateboarding, and Flock of Seagulls. It was also the time period when movies like Sixteen Candles, The Back to the Future trilogy, and Uncle Buck landed on the big screen.
It was exactly 30 years ago today that a John Hughes’ film was released in theaters and changed the way people looked at life.
The Breakfast Club starring Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall made their screen debut for millions to watch in anticipation of what will happen next.
The movie released in 1985 is about five high school students, all different stereotypes, meet in detention, where they pour their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought.
Kids, teenagers and adults still watch the movie today.
So, today’s double card day is inspired by The Breakfast Club.
Don’t you forget about me…
