Day 184: Still going even a day late

Even though the 4th of July was yesterday, people where I live seem to have forgotten that because they are still lighting off fireworks tonight. BTW…it’s after 11:00 p.m. here.

I have no idea why anyone would have leftover fireworks to burn, but they should have used them all up last night.

Anyhow, enough about my complaining about fireworks going off and onto the Thank You card!

I was inspired by two different things today: an outfit I saw online and fireworks still going off at my house. Today’s color combination is more subdued than yesterday’s and no, I didn’t plan on creating another red, white and blue card. Actually, today’s color combination include a cream, brick red, and a lighter blue. The circle pattern represents my noisy and ridiculous neighbors that keep lighting fireworks off, a day late.

Personally, I’m more happier with today’s card design than the one I created yesterday. I think yesterday’s design felt too amateurish and in your face. Today’s design feels more graphic and grounded. I’m trying to refine my design style while continuing to explore others, and I really wish I had done something different for yesterday’s card.

But you know what?

There’s nothing I can do about it now because it’s already done and out there for the world to see. So, now I just have to work even harder and smarter on the cards and not revert backwards.

Day 183: A day off to relax, ha

I’m off work today because I normally don’t go in until 5:30 p.m., but the store closed at 6:00 p.m. since it is a national holiday.

Did I get a chance to relax by the pool?

Unfortunately, the answer is no.

I had to be up early to take care of some business this morning and then I came home to finish laundry, clean my car, pull weeds in the yard, mow the lawn (The neighbor did that for me, score!), and clean my house. Everything is done with the exception of cleaning my house. I got lazy this afternoon and have not even started. But I did put the bathroom rugs outside!

Anyhow, I did finish a card inspired by the 4th of July.

I don’t celebrate the holiday, cook on the grill, or watch the fireworks. Instead, I catch up on a million things that I need to get done – like clean. Blah.

I’m just not in the mood to be on the computer today because it’s so pretty outside, and I have no energy to be typing this blog post any longer.

I want to be lazy before my mojo kicks in to clean the house.
