Day 272: Twinkle, twinkle little star

Today’s card is all about the stars.

I was inspired by some retro business cards where the designer created an object that represented a letter. For example: P was for popsicle, Y was for yarn, and L was for library. So naturally I had to recreate a Thank You card in the same design style and color palate.

I actually typed in the words “Thank You” in Google to see what images came up and I found a lot of text, and very little objects.

But then the stars started shining at me and that’s how come I used them in the card.

So, here it is!

Day 183: A day off to relax, ha

I’m off work today because I normally don’t go in until 5:30 p.m., but the store closed at 6:00 p.m. since it is a national holiday.

Did I get a chance to relax by the pool?

Unfortunately, the answer is no.

I had to be up early to take care of some business this morning and then I came home to finish laundry, clean my car, pull weeds in the yard, mow the lawn (The neighbor did that for me, score!), and clean my house. Everything is done with the exception of cleaning my house. I got lazy this afternoon and have not even started. But I did put the bathroom rugs outside!

Anyhow, I did finish a card inspired by the 4th of July.

I don’t celebrate the holiday, cook on the grill, or watch the fireworks. Instead, I catch up on a million things that I need to get done – like clean. Blah.

I’m just not in the mood to be on the computer today because it’s so pretty outside, and I have no energy to be typing this blog post any longer.

I want to be lazy before my mojo kicks in to clean the house.

Day 53: I just don’t feel like designing today

I still don’t feel like designing. I’m just not in the mood.

That happens with designers. Sometimes our creativity keeps running and we can’t keep up with it, and other times it runs dry as a well on a hot desert day. And then there are days when we just don’t feel like being creative. There’s nothing wrong with that…it just happens.

Eventually we see something that inspires us and then our creativity takes off like a bullet flying out a shot gun!

My juices are slowing down. It could be that I’m tired and haven’t felt like my body and mind has gotten enough sleep. I need one good day to sleep in late, past 11:00 a.m. to recharge my batteries – that didn’t happen this week. 😦 Or, it could be that my upper shoulders are so sore that I can’t focus until I can get the muscles to loosen up, then I’ll feel better.

Or it could be that I really don’t feel like being on the computer. It happens!

So if you think my designs are cheesy right now, don’t give up on me. This is what happens to every creative individual out there that wants to be creative 24/7, but just can’t.

I am a prime example that you can’t be creative 24/7. I need a break!

Anyhow, here is today’s card.

Day 47: It’s been a very busy day

Long story short, it’s been a very busy day.

I had something of importance to take care of this morning, afterwards I had to work this afternoon, and then tonight I had to finish working on a client’s rush project for a presentation with their client tomorrow morning.

So…today’s card is a rush job because I just didn’t have any time left in the day.

Good Night.
